Stuck in the past and still running Windows XP or Vista. Worried that each time you upgrade your PC seems to run more slowly, or maybe you are simply looking to breath new life into an old PC.

Most people are unaware that there is an alternative to Windows, Or Mac's, and that is Linux. Never heard of it I hear you say, but you have used Google, or Facebook, and maybe you even have an Android phone. Yes that's right, all powered by Linux, so to are many checkout desks, ATM's and modern TV's. So why not check it out?

Using a Live CD, you don't even have to install Linux to try it, most Linux magazines will include a DVD with a live distro on it and there are many Open Source applications, you can use. For example Libre Office is the open source equivalent, and is compatible with, the Microsoft Office suite. This is usually included by default in most Linux distros, but there ar many more, from games to specialist applications that are Science or Engineering based. Oh and by the way, did I forget to mention that being open source, it is free to use, so not locking you into any proprietary products.
