O'Reilly Book Reviews

SoSLUG O'Reilly Book Reviews

Today Friday 17th April SoSLUG have received our very first package from O'Reilly User Group Programme, consisting of three brand new books which we can review, only one of which seems to be from the O'Reilly press. Anyway on offer are three books for us to review, we should I think make as much use of this facility as possible. # Mastering the Nikon D300 by Darrel Young # Photographic Multishot Techniques by Juergen & Rainer Gulbins # Photoshop CS4 - The Missing Manual by Lesa Snider King Surprisingly all of the books we have been given have little to do with Linux, Photoshop CS4 clearly covers the Mac and Windows environments, the other two books better relate to photography. I will bring these books with me to the Jaunty Jackalope party anyone who would wish to review these books should come and see me Derek Shaw. I have to admit it is not at all clear if the reviewer gets to keep the books or if these gets returned to publisher, I will see if I can gain some clarification before Thursday's party. Please read the book review guidelines if you are considering reviewing one of the books sent.

Book Review

Ok Rory the book you have requested is yours to review

I'lll review 2 - not into Nikon or $Photoshop

Haven't got a Nikon, not into Photoshop but I am into the Gimp. I will review the second book on the list - it's kinda about HDR images. I thought they would have provided some more "linuxy" books? Rory McPherson http://www.rorymcpherson.com
