Outline of Competition

You may have noticed, we recently upgraded the SoSLUG theme. One key feature of the new theme is the banner at the top of the page changes, depending on the page and section of the menu you are currently viewing. At present though quite a few sections do not have their own banner and so the default banner of a jigsaw, with a piece missing is used instead (see below for example).

So the purpose of the competition is to enable you to submit your design for a new banner. There are no prizes I'm afraid, other than seeing your work posted on the SoSLUG site. It doesn't matter if a section has a banner or not, if you think yours is better then submit it.

Rules

The rules are simple. The competition is open to all. The banner should be your own work, and not include any copyright material. The image should relate to the section in some way. I.e. jigsaw, missing piece, to indicate a missing banner. You get the idea. The size of the image must be 600 x 150 pixels and the image format is to be png. Your favourite image editor should easily cope with that.

As the example below shows, Wherever a page in the menu introduces a new sub section, a banner is required. In this example the new section is called Linux for novices. This is also the title to use for your image, which should be accompanied by a brief (140 characters or less) explanation of how it relates.
